High school ball ?

Is high school like travel...you can play up, but not down. Basically, when you are a junior/senior, do you have to play varsity or can you still play for JV

I think you can play JV, but I am not sure - we don't have JV. However, a friend's son is a pitcher, and he is a junior playing JV.

I've never seen a senior on the JV softball team. I've seen seniors play JV basketball.

There is no restriction.

In our area of Virginia, JV can be 8th, 9th, or 10th. Varsity can be 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th. Juniors and Senior can't play JV.

Likewise in my area of VA. Rules are different for private schools though... I believe they've had 7th graders on their Varsity teams before.

In KY 6-12 can play varsity. Haven't see any seniors play JV, not sure if it's a rule, though. DD's team has two seniors that have yet to see any PT through 12 games, and a third that has pitched 3.5 games.
