DD needs a new glove. She has used a 12.5 size since she was 9 yrs. old. We can only afford one glove. She mostly plays SS and sometimes 1st. Rarely outfield. What could we expect if we go down to an 11.5 as I see for infield sometimes. She will be starting HS in the fall.

A D1 coach told the infielder's to get a glove 11.5 - 12." DD went from a 12.5 to a 12 for 3rd and loves it. We got a good deal on an A2K and it's the best glove I've ever seen.

14U DD - 5'3" 110 lbs with larger hands has used a RV1961-L 12.75" from Casedawg since 12U.

She played CF in 12U and now plays SS.
I asked her if she wanted a smaller glove for infield, but she says she prefers the 12.75" for the additional range it provides.
She is very quick and she is able to field and get rid of the ball quickly, so it's not getting "lost" in the larger glove..

JAD is right about the break-in time.
Before it was broken in she was indifferent towards it, afterwards you cannot pry her away from it....

Just because you mentioned 1B, I would stay 12-12.5 myself. I have both Vinci models mentioned in this thread here with me . The 1929 measures right at 12 and the 1961 right at 12.5. Vincis play a little short but deep.

I missed the 1b part. ..
We have the Vinci 1961 in Kip and I'd agree that it's really nice leather.

DD plays 2B when she isn't catching. She also has the 1929L I purchased from Casedawg. It is an excellent choice for middle infield. Definitely plays like a 12" glove and it doesn't have Velcro! Two friends have bought this same glove after checking out DD's. I would highly recommend this model. Heck, I sold two SCN4Bs on the cheap just to buy two Vincis. :)
