Proud of DD's team for winning the 18U USSSA Eastern World Series in Salisbury. Our team went into the week with 3 of the 11 girls having flu-like symptoms and then our guest player ended up getting sick and missing almost the entire week. DD got a bad ear infection after going into the Ocean and had a hard time sleeping at night. They battled though all of that and won it all. They were long hot days for all of the teams there, and one day we finished 17 hours after we first stepped into the park because of rain delays. I'm glad the girls voted to stay closer to home this year because it made the drive home much nicer-3 1/2 hours. DD said she won't be playing travel next year (we'll see) so this was a great way to end it. She was exciting to watch defensively and although she didn't have any monster hits, she was one of the most consistent and laid down the go ahead sac bunt in the quarter-finals (7 for 7 this year RDB LOL). It's been a fun summer and now it's time for college!
