Right Here For Now
My little DD from a little town in softball-little WI has accomplished her athletic dream => Play for an SEC team!

Bio for Maddie Boyd | UK Wildcats | Softball

Congratulations my friend! It couldn't have happened to a harder working DD and her family! From our family to yours...we wish you guys all the success in the world!

P.S. We'll be keeping a close eye on her and rooting extremely hard!

Yup - walked in and walked on as an unknown to the UK staff.
But DD & I have always thought highly of the KY coaching staff.

Wow....RB- you should give a little backstory on her journey so that those that have not been around to see her path know what a fantastic chapter this is to her story.

Between your kid and RBs there is a definite lesson about how the path isn't always so straight to your kid getting what she wants but with perseverance anything is possible.

Congrats to her and you.

The Cliff Notes version:
DD's story is completely non-traditional:
Early high-school emerging star
Sophomore in HS gets full mid-D1 scholarship
Junior year stress fracture in back out all year
Senior year struggled to get back to form - "quit" for 3 months.
Freshman at mid-D1 was told by new HC that she was not a D1 pitcher/player and bench-rode her.
Sophomore year was picked up by good JUCO and ended the year fantastic.
Walked-on to Kentucky with an attitude of make-or-quit. Kentucky didn't know her at all.

Moral of the story - it aint over til it's over
