Appreciate all the answers. Getting ready for a tournament this weekend and looking to use this in my strategy. If you will all humor me one more time, another follow-up question...If I have a lineup of 10 (9 O/D and one AP)...I do not sub anyone...but I can change the positions around at will...meaning that at any one time a different one of the original 9 O/D players could be on the bench and it would not be a substitution, just a position change. Is this correct? See example below:

First Inning Second Inning
1. Anna - pitch catch
2. Bonnie - catch pitch
3. Cathy - first right
4. Dottie - second left
5. Ellen - third AP
6. Fran - short center
7. Genny - left second
8. Hillary - center first
9. Ilana - right third
10. Jen - AP short

of 10, Jen is your AP and plays defense for 5, Ellen in the 2nd inning, that does not make Ellen the AP it simply means she is not currently playing defense but is still in the batting lineup. Jen is still the AP, she is just playing defense for Ellen.
