Lead off batter hits a shot to right-center field . The center fielder runs it down, the ball bounces off her glove and she accidentally kickes the ball past the right fielder and under the temporary fence. By the time the ball goes under the fence the batter is on her way to third base. Umpire call dead ball and awards the batter 3rd base. Coach on defense challenges the call, the three umpires talk and agree ground rule double and sends my girl back to second base. I argue she kicked the ball out of bounds but they have made up their mind and the call stands. Was it the right call?
