I recently had an opportunity to weigh both the demarini CF7 -11 and the Xeno -11 still in the wrappers at my local athletic store. Both were supposed to be 31/20. The DeMarini weighed 20 ounces, the Xeno was just shy of 22 ounces. Anyone else run into the Xeno weighing more than advertised?

I have heard that the -11 Xeno really isn't any different than a -10 with a -11 graphic from a reliable source. My DD just switched from a 32/22 Mako to a 33/23 '15 Xeno. Put both on the scale and the Xeno weighed .38 ounces more than the Mako. Neither weighed what it was stickered ( just under 24 ounces on both)

My DD's new 2015 Xeno 33/24 weighed exactly 24 ounces out of the wrapper as opposed to her new (but rejected for the Xeno) 2014 Easton FS1 33/23 which weighed 24.5 ounces.

Back on the dirt...
We have always had demarini bats and have had good success with them IMO. Older dd (02) has had cf5,6,7 in different sizes and they have lots of pop. 05 dd had been using the cf5 30 -11 with good success. She got a 30 -11 Xeno in the middle of fall and she hits equally as well as the D but it has the "clink" sound when she gets a good hit. That is what she likes so that is what she has been using. But I personally have used both for fielding drills and I like the D better. Doesn't take much to get the ball to jump off the bat.

IMO, both of these bats are worth the price. If your kid likes the colors of either, you can't go wrong.

Ps xeno does feel a little heavier and is end loaded. I've weighed them both but don't recall the numbers off hand.

Its no secret most bats weigh over sticker. I would be more pissed that the Mako is almost 24oz being it was a 22 than a 23 bat weighing short of 24.

Problem with that theory...the 29/18 cant be a -10 bat...haha

Being longtime Easton users, we were used to the over weight of the bats. I played with an Easton sponsored SP team, and actually liked the heavier weights. DD preferred it as well.

Curious why she switched then?

We did some testing with ball exit speeds with both bats, and she generated 3-6 mph faster with the Xeno. The Mako is still in the bag just in case. Our 12u team is playing up at 16u this weekend, and she wants to see how it handles in the games before she makes the switch permanent.
