Just wondering if d3 schools will sign girls. Dd has talked to coach on numerous occasion and he seems interested in her. Travel ball coach called last night to get her high school coach address for the college coach cause there good friends. College coach just called a few minutes ago but dd was still at hs practice. She is already enrolled to the college so this would make her day.

JAD is right here. D3 is academic money only. However D3 schools are still very interested in girls who can add value to their softball programs. If she's looking for some assistance to a D3 she had better have an impressive GPA to support her.
We know there is no money for d3 sports but do they sign players or is it more verbal commitment. She just talked to the coach and he wanted to know how hs practice was going. He said don't worry practice next year won't be like that. Sounds like things are looking up for dd.
“An institution, or one that competes in a sport in Division III, shall not use in the recruitment of a prospective student-athlete in a sport classified in Division III any form of a letter of intent or similar form of commitment”.
