Why is this reaction happening
with covid-corona?
(*Just Asking...not being snarky)
When regular influenza has these #'s in U.S.
CDC in Feb 2020 Reported atleast 12,000 deaths in U.S. from Oct 2019 to Feb 2020

The difference that makes Corona scarier than flu, is the mortality rate other countries have reported is around 2%. If you do the math, and apply that rate to the 15,000,000 cases of flu, and you are talking 300,000 dead.

The actual mortality is probably less than 2%, due to un-diagnosed cases. But we just don't know yet.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. There is definitely food for thought here in terms of how it will affect softball this year. But there is also a chance it could go off the rails quickly as well.

With that in mind your friendly neighborhood moderators have discussed it and decided to lock this thread. We also don't want to see any others start up unless there is a direct relationship to softball, e.g., PGF decides to cancel Nationals or something like that.

Thanks for your understanding.
