Ok, gotcha. In games she's plenty explosive as far as movement (still lacking in certain fundamentals). But, sometimes she goes around 80% when she's trying to learn things.

Just to be clear, we're talking about suddenness of the bat launch, not the overall swing process. The only way to create proper launch suddenness is by using a swing pattern that builds resistance/tension, and uses that resistance/tension to power the swing - like the release of a tightly-wound spring.

Thanks again Eric. Some of this terminology is new to me.

Try this...

Stand in a batting stance. Start turning your hips toward the pitcher, moving your rear knee in a line towards your front foot. While doing this, do not allow your shoulders to turn at all - "resist" the turning of the hips. As your hips continue to turn forward, you will start to feel tension build up your back, from your rear hip to your rear shoulder blade (scapula - aka "scap). Wind up that tension as tight as you can. Can you feel how that would aid in launching the swing suddenly, explosively, "RightNow!"?

Worked on some things today, including bracing. Tried some separation stuff (like flinging the hands back)...DD said it felt weird. So, that'll be a work in progress.

Not here.
On a side note. This is the hitter who was hitting behind your DD. This is separation:

Needs work on her barrel/bat path though.
