First day hitting to get ready for the upcoming season. She wasn't too rusty. But she seemed to let her front shoulder fly open early. I'm not an expert by any stretch which is why I come here. Any que to fix that?

Watch the front elbow of elite hitters. Have your DD watch the lead elbow of elite hitters as well. Compare that to your DD'S lead elbow.

Watched a video of her crushing a high pitch on YouTube. If she hits high pitches better than low pitches it may be that the hight of her lead elbow has a lot to do with it. Play around and see if she can hit a pitch at the knees with her tricep/elbow facing the pitcher and working up. You just might get the 'finish' you are looking for.

Thanks Ian....I get what you are saying. I'm willing to bet that her lead elbow goes down and then forward on low pitches.
