On the other end of that, can you replace the DP with a player from the bench?? Or can you switch your DP and Flex with each other?

Yes you can enter a sub for the DP. As for the DP and Flex switching, if the DP plays defense for the flex, the flex has left the game and it counts as a substitution for the flex. If you bat the flex for the DP, the DP has left the game and it is considered a substitution for the DP.

And on that same note, you can return the flex back into the game in the 10th spot and go back to 10 players.

Same to be said for the DP. They can return back into their spot in the lineup, flex goes back to the 10th spot and you are back to 10.


Once you learn and realize all the options the DP/flex offers you, it can become a very valuable tool. For those less informed on it's use, it can become a nightmare when you are forced to learn during the game. It's very under utilized, but with courtesy runners the coaches don't have to use it to it's full advantages.
