3 fingers grip

Hi, I'm Dam's a french pitching coach!!

I have a question about the grip!!
One of my pitchers uses a 3 fingers grip for his 4 seam fastball!!( the thumb, the index and the middle finger)

May I try to fix this "bad" grip or let him use this 3 fingers grip?

I'm not anyone's pitching coach, French or otherwise but I know the answer.

The three finger grip is perfectly fine. The less fingers you use, the faster the pitcher can throw the ball. More hand contact = less speed, assuming that the pitcher can properly grip the ball with less fingers of course.

Most pitchers start when they are really young and need to use more fingers. As they get older they just don't change because it is comfortable.
