That looks mighty close to hitting her fingers.

Had it hit her fingers, she would have been immediately cut from the team. It's a clear sign that she's not good enough to play for Alabama.

If the ball hits your fingers it would certainly "deaden" the bunt better, along with deadening any feeling you have in your fingers..

My college coach taught bunting this way over 30 years ago. He said it gave you better bat control. I always used his grip when doing drills but in the game, I would revert back to what I was taught as a kid and grip it normal. I could always bunt so it was not an issue. Weird that I was taught that way over 30 years ago and have never heard anyone say anything about.
