Rdbass ... the book cover above represents the 'second edition'. The first edition had the view below which supposedly perfectly captures what is taught ... with the confusion being that high leg kick was not part of what the system was intended to capture.

Thanks Shawn. Will be interested in your description.

I believe it is pretty much basic core loading.

Cues such as showing the hitters your numbers to the pitcher at landing ... downhill shoulders (attack angle) ... hiding the hands from the pitcher (scap related).

Basically the core has to be prepared at swing launch.

While I refer to this as core loading, it would likely be thought of as slack removal to others.

A basic way to go about teaching this to a young player is to have them 'rock the U' as they 'walk away from their hands' ... with the front shoulder moving down-and-in towards the rear hip.

I'm about 1/2 way through it myself. Mostly an easy read - may be a little confusing if you're not familiar with his style of writing / blogging - as his blog posts often will be a combination summary video and more written details from whatever experiment he was conducting. Most of what I read was from the first edition, but I've just started on the 2nd edition - skimmed through to where I stopped with the first edition. Maybe this will motivate me to finish reading it!

Just adding this video to help with what is going on with the front side. While many will find that the lead leg lift helps with the 'core loading' ... others will find that the 'hip hike' does the trick.
