I appreciate your concern. Thank you for your input. But I dont think we are talking about doing It on the frequency level that you may be thinking about. Cant be any worse than those TC balls that girls even younger than her are hitting. Obviously we are going to be doing a lot more tee work and soft toss working on her sequence than standing there hitting dodge balls. Like I said though, I do sincerely appreciate your concern and I will keep It In mind with any drill I do with her. Afterall, safety and health are the most important thing.

Our team has been hitting volleyballs off tees since 8u without a problem, they think it is fun and request to do it. With that said you should definitely ask her if it hurts her and if it does try something else.

Most definitely. I'm not going to do anything that Is going to injure or put my child at risk. Its not even something I can say we will even 100% do at this point. More than anything I thought we were just brainstorming ideas In this thread. If I ever did It, It would be during her normal tee work and maybe do It three times when I see her stopping her swing. Just to get her mindset back to swinging through the ball and get a little more aggression out of her swing. I think the drill that we are going to use the most Is where she swings through the ball and holds at extension pointing to center field/second base or slightly there after.

One thing you might try is “hold the pose”.

They hit off the tee and get to fully finished position that you sometimes see in the paper after a major leaguer hits a hr. They “hold that pose” for the cameras and you have some fun with it pretending to take a picture.

Mostly did this with younger kids, with the older ones the drill was hold the pose and remain balanced for 5 seconds which seems like an eternity.

Another thing might be hitting waffle balls (super light balls) off a tee with an extra light bat or a broomstick with emphasis on speed and follow through.

Have them practice over swinging with regular bats. Hit the ball as hard as they can and aggressively rotate as far as they possibly can. “Stretch as far as you can and then a little more.”

These drills are just something to work a little and then move on. Not a long term deal.

I’m not a proponent of hitting anything heavier than softballs for anyone but the strongest 10% of hs players and maybe not even them. I made a post on hitting playground balls awhile back but keep in mind the intended audience was hs age p5 college camp attendees.

In the simplest of terms, hands finishing below shoulder height.

I like simple terms lol. Thanks again, I will be looking for that when we do the hold the pose drill. I think that Is going to be the best way to go with her right now. All of you In this thread have been so helpful, I really do appreciate It. Its not very often total strangers are willing to help someone out with the proper advice.

This would be my advice. Tell her to try and hit the ball as hard as she can, swing as hard as she can. It will be hard to stop your swing if you are putting max
effort into it.

My 2 year old son doesn't finish his swing sometimes and
when I tell him to "swing hard" he usually finishes the swing (and sometimes ends up on the ground but hey he's 2  ).
