Like that! But have you ever seen it first hand? Serious question, not being snarky.

And I'm guessing that bat passed an NCAA shake test a few hours prior.... no sand pebbles heard, lol

Exactly, I have seen 100 times more bats break elsewhere besides the connection. I have seen handles snap, barrels crack/blow up, endcap
pieces chip off, handle knobs fall off. I don't know if I have seen any snap at the connection. I sure I have and don't remember, but easily
not even close.
And connection movement is very common and does not mean the connection is failing or its gonna break there...haha.

DD has broken 2 xenos at the connection point. One had a little wobble before hitting lesson started, but not much. Broke after 2.5 buckets. The other didn't have a wobble that we were aware of. Just snapped when she hit the ball right on the connection point. Both were under warranty.

My point...bats break. Play in the connection means nothing about a bat being faulty. Its a common thing.
You said it was inspected and not removed, so it was fine. Just broke. Things happen. The bat
can be tight as heck, and still break.
But like I said, I do understand. You have to set a precedent and not allow testers judgement to skew it. Then
you would get into...whats too much movement to kick out and keep in.
