Looks like they posted the site of the next year's Jo Cup. Spartanburg, SC. 7 hour flights from Houston! What is there to do there folks? Need to start planning my next summer.

ETA: looks like we can fly into Charlotte, NC. Okay that's a little better.

There's not a lot to do in Spartanburg proper that I'm aware of, but Greenville, SC is a very cool little city with a neat riverfront downtown area. Only about 30 minutes from Spartanburg. We had a tournament at the Tyger River Park and stayed in Greenville and it's an easy drive.

Lived in Charlotte a good part of last year and traveled to Sparty and Greenville quite a bit. Not much to do but is is absolutely beautiful! I shouldn't say not much to do as there are plenty of outdoor things available but not "main" attractions that are big name. Definitely go to Asheville, NC as it is not far away (about 1 hour) and see the Biltmore and mountains. It is awesome! Probably more in Greenville than Spartanburg as said above and it is an easy drive. I will try to think of more and report back!

Go check out a little school about an hour southwest of GSP that will be getting ready for their first year of the softball program. They might be the defending NCAA football champions at that time. Stop by the Esso Club for a meat and 3 sides.

Love the fields at Spartanburg! Atlanta is only about 3.5 hours away. Just was looking at the logistics from Spartanburg to California.

Hotels fill up quick for the two big showcases at Tyger River each year. The park is actually in Duncan, SC. Most teams end up having to stay 20-30 min away from fields. Make sure you park near your pod of fields, unless you just enjoy long walks in 90 degree heat and 100% humidity.

And even when you do park in the right spot, it's still about a 10 minute walk. I was really happy for my wagon when we were there in June.

We didn't go last year because it was all the way in St Louis, no way in Hell we'd try to get the families to go to South Carolina between Colorado and PGF
