From the coach of the German national team...

"that sounds very great and I´m happy to hear that.

So I have great interested, that your daughter play for our national team this summer.

Can you please check if it possible that your daughter comes to Germany in the week around 20. of July. Than we have our last practice weekend with the national team and on Friday 29. of July we fly to Barcelona for the European Champion Chip. We come back to Cologne on Sunday, 07 of August.
When start her school?"

Her German grandma is going to be sooooo happy. The competition level in Europe is nowhere near what we see here, but she'll be playing up to a 16U level so it should even things out a bit, what a cool experience, spending August in Spain playing softball. We'll see how this plays out.

From my experience, the Germans like having good Americans play with them.
A couple of years ago I was considering moving to Karlsruhe. The coach for the Karlsruhe Cougars, also the pitching coach for the Jr National Team, pointed out they had several Americans on her team and were always happy to have more.
Especially talented Americans.

I forgot to mention : the only age groups they have in Germany are 16u, 19u and adult.

14u girls play 16u. 12u girls play baseball.

That's pretty vague. What money is being wasted? Do you have experience with the German National Team, or a similar situation? It seems to me like a summer trip to Europe has a lot of value for a family - softball-related or not.

As of writing this, "I Know It All" has 4 posts. Smells like a troll to me.

Totally agree. Cologne. Barcelona. Getting to experience different cultures. Making new friends and having an adventure. Memories that will probably last a lifetime. Blah, blah, blah. They should stick close to home. And softball travel should be a 6 hour trip in a minivan with two nights at a Holiday Inn. Barcelona?? Just the Spanish version of Bakersfield. Everybody knows that.
