Not everybody is Bonds. You talk of squaring balls up without a problem while Altuve's exit velo is 16mph difference between his fastball and curve swings.
Something doesn't add up.
I'm confused, my bad. I thought you were older and facing live pitching often.
To me there's a difference between bp pitching and live. Most players can square up bp regardless of their mechanics. You come across as facing live pitching often and squaring balls up.
If your facing 90 and...
TDS, are you the one claiming that when you hit live it doesn't matter what type of pitch is thrown? That you have no problem being on time?
If so, MLB players must not use your hitting theory. How can you explain the batting averages being count related? For example, Altuve hits 446 with a 2-0...
Most hitters are taught to look for a zone. Never adjust up. If looking for a pitch down and away and get a pitch up you'll never catch up. In regards to a fb.
Up and in is usually a fastball, if you adjust to that location I would think you're getting beat most of the time. That locations contact point for a squared up ball is the quickest as far as reaction time goes. To me up and in needs to be zoned up pre-pitch if you are to stand a chance against...
Timing the ball with the core works great for bp or up to certain velo's. In baseball at the upper levels you better be timing the ball with your hands. Core actions need to be ingrained in the swing without focusing on the move. Game is too fast, time with the hands.

In my opinion the clips need to show stride into foot plant. At this time eyes read ball out of hand and body makes adjustments for location. Notice clips above miggy is taller on the right. So important to be back side, hard to make body adjustments when weight is just a little forward...
I actually have no idea about Miggy's intent (HAND PATH) on the above swing. I'm not a mind reader. Haven't had the chance to speak with him lately. LOL
As usual, no answer for the spin question. Good luck with your theory on directing hands to a location without reading spin. If you can...
Howe, just how far from the plate to hitters pick up spin? Nobody picks spin up upon release from the pitcher at the pro level. If the ball has late movement and you are pushing, you are in a tough spot. Adjustability is adjusting to late movement. If you take your hands to a spot that you read...
Doesn't it seem funny that Five has never produced a clip of a student or himself swinging a bat that support his beliefs? Instead using a clip of a MLB player. He must be a mind reader to know what they're thinking.
Anyone that shows their work whether this site or elsewhere. You can then...
I haven't been on this site is quite awhile, just to find the arm chaired quarterbacks still throwing passes
Take your daughters and RUN if they cannot show you any of there students - The real Hanson Principle!
PS: For those who remember me..... my daughter verballed D1 a year and a half...
All,
Do you think the speed of the game forced the reduction in bat weight?
The greats from the past, could they swing the same heavy bats in todays game?
The Mick and Hank appear to use their bodies different than todays bigger and stronger players. I'm sure if players today could use the same type of movements they would. I think speed of the game has changed mechanics from the 60's to today. I would love to see a Miggy versus Bob Gibson and...
