i agree what a dumb pe coach. My DD pplayed powder puff last week and I had the same fear a torn ACL and having to tell her college coach we were too stupid to forbid itand let her play. But no injuries on either thr jr or ser team.
I think it's a good idea to stay in rec this year. Switching to lefty is a major change and having an understanding coach is huge. Use this year for development not winning. Your DD will probably not be productive for a time and playing TB would be very stressful. Good luck.
And I also...
I've see this too. We have a local Gold team that carries 20 players and plays 9. My DD's Gold team has a rule that if your not committed and don't send emails to college coaches with field info and game times the player sits. Also, hustle and attitude have to be good to get playing time...
Yes.
My DD made her verbal commitment Oct of her jr year. I think that is the norm but the top 25 softball program schools verbal their players much earlier.
The college coach can speak to her TB team recruiting or head coach and tell them it would be beneficial for the player to attend their camp. All communication can be done threw her TB coach. When the player is on their campus they can speak with her and her parents.
The out of state campers were probably invited.
The rules my DD used were; hustle always, try and be first in all drills; encourage, loudly, the other campers; volunteer for everything and be coachable; stay after and thank all the coaches and their helpers and volunteer to help put away...
ASA changed their requirements for Junior National team selections. If your DD does not play ASA nationals she is not eligible for consideration. If she joins their program, Softball Factory, she is. IMHO this is BUSH. They, ASA, are trying to get the quality teams back from PGF for their...
My DD was given the dates of Nov 14 thru Nov 21. If she did not get it in by then it was invalid. I'm not sure if they would have rewritten the contract or she would have had to wait for the spring signing. Not all D2 are in the NCAA NLI program with the strict guidelines. Not to say she...
Two of the older coaches for that 12u team co-head coached my DD's team at the gold level last year. They are the best coaches she has ever had. Keep having her try out for that team in the future. Didn't know you were so close to us.
My DD was e-mailed her offer Sept of last year and we could not make her official visit until Jan of this year. The offer did not change during her official. She signed her NLI last month and her offer did not change. None of her friends, team mates, acquaintances or alum from her gold team...
Wow, Amy, been burned have ya? You should explain your comment for the younger players parents because a statement like that, from you, can do a lot of damage.
If your DD is being recruited this early then she can get a full ride. My DD is a center fielder slapper and she got a full ride. Not to a top D1 but a mid level growing program D1. Is her TB coach negotiating for her?
