Elbow Pain
May I suggest getting it checked??? My DD complained of pain when she gave up the longest homerun I ever saw... We just told her to own the homerun she gave up and stop making excuses... Should a Select Team play Rec Ball?
I agree completely!!! Rec is great for girls wanting to learn - play w friends - have fun!!! Rec is also where my dd fell in love w the game... She just practiced all year and out grew it. Speaking from experience - my dd played rec 7-8 against other towns, 14u travel, and 12u club this past year. "I've made a huge mistake"
My dd is right now on a club team w either 4 or 5 pitchers. Since we just started practicing, I honestly do not know what number pitcher she is. Disrespectful kids
Just last week we had a team (14u travel) where parents didn't like the umpires calls. One wild pitch hit the ump in the head. Parents from the other team started clapping. Poor pitch calling
All year my dd's coach called screwballs. (2 innings - 2 fastballs the rest screwballs) he's changing it up now 2 fastballs the rest curveballs. She has a deadly drop but the coach got rid of that sign bcz he never calls it. Also a total of 4 change ups all season... Finally her pitching...- Dana Marque

Picking a rec league team

Wait - I'm confused (don't let this surprise anyone)... My DD pitches with the Michelle Smith mechanics. What about it hurting them??? And learning a curve in HS??? That's why I love this board... I learn so much... And yes - in NJ we also use the level thing... Town travel may be a "B" level if they are good... Club is usually "A" level maybe some "B" levels for first year players... Thank for that... :)- Dana Marque

Sorry - I've been stuck in the house FOREVER due to snow... Rec is obviously everyone plays, Travel is the best the town, and club is the best of surrounding areas. We drive 1/2 hour to participate in practices, scrimmages, workouts. Club really only plays in tournaments or scrimmages...- Dana Marque

I can only comment on what happened to my DD. She's played rec and travel ball since she was in 4th grade. Dominated as a pitcher in both with no other pitcher near her skills. Can travel ball kill a rec. league?
In our town, one needs to play rec in order to be on the town travel team. The down side to this is when a really good player is playing rec, they play down from their ability. Halloween

Halloween

What happened to my DD??
Ok - we had a tournament this weekend. We fought Friday night about no contacts SATURDAY... Thank god because the wind was brutial... Dirt every where....
