    This is why I buy a hail car from the insurance auction. I get the car for about 1/2 price, and if it gets hit at the ball park, unless it gets glass, no big deal. Take my time over the winter to fix it and sell it, and start all over again in the spring.

    Incidental contact?

    I cannot picture any situation where there would be 'incidental contact' fielding a ground ball. The only other scene is where 3rd base is the protected fielder, but then you should have obstruction on the short stop.

    I think the key is to have someone at or near the bag by the time the runner is rounding 2nd. Who it is doesn't matter, just the fact that it is not a free base is enough to hold the runner.     Depends on what has been covered in practice. Our LF knows that when a batter bunts with a runner on 1st, it is a race between her and the runner to third. The girls do not know any more than what gets coached in practice.

    If the ump doesn't call dead ball, he immeadiatly determined that it was a hit ball. If it hits your hands or you WHILE swinging it is a dead ball strike. If it hits your hands or you NOT swinging, out of the strike zone it is a hbp.

    Budget for HS ball??

    What our coach has found out is that he can make more money not charging a gate. Our concession stand makes great food and sells more when there is no gate fee. The school does not charge for any sports. You only have to bring your cleats and glove, and pay for your hat.
