    10u dd converted lefty

Hit through the ball, not to the ball.

    Updated swing from DD

Get more on the toes of the rear leg, and don't let the heel move backward. If you set a ball against the back of that foot, it shouldn't move during the swing. Your DD would kick it backward. That's also related to not coiling properly into the rear hip.

    RVP connection point position

My humble opinion ... that looks terrible. No power through the hit, just to it.

    Bustos

This looks a lot like Maddy O'Brien's swing to me ... It seems like they just skip part of everyone else's swing. So, just a couple questions. Bustos=Howard? And Howard is the LSU Howard?

    Interesting....

That's tough. They're both pretty interesting. I like the first one, because you can see the umpire walking away and not watching. But the second one ... so cleanly upturns her ...

    Interesting....

So in this drill, you want the bat to be moving forward before the front foot is down? Sounds like drilling poor mechanics to me.

Hitting style - holding bat out in stance

He said the emphasis was on confidence. And several times said things like "or at least think we have an advantage".

Hitting style - holding bat out in stance

I think of muscle memory as "how" to swing the bat. This is "where" to swing the bat.

Hitting style - holding bat out in stance

Imagine you're hitting a ball on a tee. What's the first thing you do? Put the bat right up to the ball, right? Then pull back and swing. You give your body a quick reminder of where you want it to get to.

Hitting style - holding bat out in stance

Ask Jim Furyk. Or Gary Sheffield. I've heard that short-term memory only lasts 3 seconds or something. Are they trying to get their general contact point in their short-term memory for the swing? (This actually happens a lot in disc golf; most top-level players "point" to their line before...

    Please help/feedback on this swing

Start with the rear heel more square. If anything, the big toe should be forward further than the heel. Stance is closed too far after the front foot plants.

    shortstop body type

College recruiters won't care if she's playing the position they want her in.

    Curt Schilling - really????

Jeez ... think about the baseball players watching saying "Schilling is announcing? Maybe I should watch this stuff." #growthesport

    Missouri/Missouri State

Earlywine's just still POed about SMS's name change ;) They definitely should have run-ruled them, and that's about the only thing to say to your team after a 6-0 win ...

    10u dd

BIG rear side spin out. It looks like she's practicing a rear side spin out. If she was driving with her rear leg while doing that, it would cause serious medical issues with her knees. Roll onto the instep and push forward.

    Reverse Hanson Principle at work

Most people don't have the personality/mentality to have a hitting coach. People don't like you messing up all their consistent mechanics to improve your technique. Terrible swings with consistency = more hits than a good inconsistent swing. They also like to forget about a sport during the...

Are these both vids of her being fooled by a pitch?

DD's confidence is at an all time low

    DD hitting... any suggestions

Rear heel moves backwards, letting all the weight slip out the rear side.
