assuming she's a rughty, put a softball under her left toe. My older daughter, who is now playing dII, had a major lunging issue at the end of U14. We spent the winter working on her swing and someone showed me that drill. If you have a ball under your stride foot and lunge, you fall over.
What really gets me now, is how Paterno, after admitting he could have done more then, forced the Board of Trustee's hands to fire him. He indirectly caused the riots last night because that HAD to fire him. If he resigned, this would probably have played out differently. This just goes to...
You're kidding right? Age is irrelavant. If he was not capable of doig his job at 75 he should not have been doing his job. They all basically pushed this guy out the door knowing he would molest again. They just didn't want it on their campus anymore. Disgusting.
At U12 and u14, I always asked the girls to try bunt toward third. I have found that many girls trying to bunt toward first, don't get the bat around far enough and they bunt it foul. At least if they are trying to bunt to third, it's more likely to be bunted fair.
As they get older, I would...
That's a commercial. The bat is also traveling downward when it hit the ball. I would expect back spin. That ball would not have been a home run anywhere
Obviously it's your call. He can't tell you not to do something. I assume this is a travel team that she had to try out for? That other girls were cut for your daughter to play on? That she may get cut from eventually for choosing her rec team over her travel team?
Agreed but in the North east at U12 and U14 it's a great way to go. The PONY system makes signing up for tournaments much easier. It's all the same teams playing in both PONY and ASA. But just the ease of registering for PONY and getting in a tournament swing it for PONY to me. I also think...
We teach our girls Rocker start and don't actually teach anything about timing the ball.
We teach them to watch the stride foot of the pitcher. When she starts her motion, lifting the stride foot, we have baserunner start her back foot in motion. We were told that by a D1 coach at a clinic 5...
No win situation
We had 12 and even after making sure everyone knew the rules concernign playing time we had two leave within 2 weeks for lack of playing time. I would rather have 10 and pray for no injuries although it's not practical. Yet, that's where I'm at now so I'm praying lol
Have a rosin bag on the mound. Or a little spit will help. My DD has that issue and has a rosin bag with her
If the ball is slippery, she can ask for a new one.
If it's wet, they will always let her get a dry one.
