8:15 - First pitch of the game, DD's team visitors.
8:17 - Pitcher #1 singles into left, turns and looks, left fielder fields cleanly and hits so #1 starts back to first. On way right leg buckles she goes down in heap. To add to the misery she gets tagged out. Unable to continue play.
8:22 - Bottom of 1st. Second pitch of game batter, come backer to pitcher. Deflects off her glove directly onto pitching forearm. She goes down in heap as well. Unable to continue play.
8:29 - DD up to bat. Second pitch straight into left leg. She made an acrobatic attempt to avoid the pitch but it was a heat seeker and was determined to hit her. Also goes down in a heap. Unable to continue play.
8:30: - 15 minutes into the first game and we went from having 3 starting pitchers and favored to win our pool, to using our #4 pitcher.

Went 0-1-2 in pool play. Hitting kept us in two of the games and we were able tie both those games. #4 did a great job given the circumstances but by the end of game #2 was tired and couldn't continue. The 1 loss was brutal 11-6 which was the most runs we have given up YET this year. In that game we had to resort to pitcher #5. She tried her best but had not pitched in a game for over a year.

Sunday the news was even worse. #1 has a possible tear in her ACL, going to specialist this week. #2 has a spiral Ulna fracture, out 6 -10 weeks.

DD has a deep bone bruise. She tells coach she can pitch and does her best for 2 innings. Goes from leap/drag to step. All arm. By the start of the 3rd inning can't go anymore. #4 takes over and we get pounded. Lose 14 - 8.

Start the drive home before 10. Only bright side is since we completed early I was able to take the family out to a nice father's day brunch.

Even with 12 Sluggers they were all the pitchers. I don't think having 15 on the team would have helped that.

I feel for the #4 pitcher I was number #2 on my state league side and our #1 was away and #3 got hurt first pitch. We had sixmore games. Thankfully one of the dads was a Phyio but I was in tears by the end of the first day. The second was agony. All in the dead of winter. Finished the second day and told I had a week off from training. Didn't pitch for three weeks.

Weren't we discussing why you need more 12 players on a team?

Hang in there...things can only get better!

No win situation
We had 12 and even after making sure everyone knew the rules concernign playing time we had two leave within 2 weeks for lack of playing time. I would rather have 10 and pray for no injuries although it's not practical. Yet, that's where I'm at now so I'm praying lol

There are also discussions on why some teams don't have their pitchers in the batting lineup.
