Best thing I ever did. No more missed signs.
I also, use a signal fan. It has 6 different colored blades and many different combinations that the players glance at their wristbands and perform what is called. Impossible to have signs picked and every player on the field knows what is going on...
I have the players collect $2 worth of pledges for every run we score. $2 doesn't sound like a lot but if you score 100 runs that's $200 per player. I usually carry 20 players on JV and Varsity, so $200 x 20 = $4000 to start the summer with.
The only problem we have had is getting all of the...
Yeah that's what I tell all the girls. as long as it doesn't interfere with our games or practices you can do what you want. If you want to practice basketball have at it. Being a small school, we need to share athletes.
I just wish the AD and other coaches felt the same way. as my DD is 6'0 a...
Hey thanks to all! I actually have pretty good attendance. We lift weights once a week and do the P90X workout for about an hour on the other 2 days. I found a hitting facility that allows players to come $50 per player from Nov.1 to Feb 13th.
However, only 3 sometimes 4 players have taken...
Does anyone make their off-season conditioning "mandatory"?
If so what are the consequences for coming some of the time or not at all?
Technically, ours cannot be made mandatory. Any ideas?
I coach in Upper East Tennessee and I just returned last Thursday from UNC-Chapel Hill's Team Camp. They only take 4 teams and the cost was $500.
They worked 2 teams at a time (on 2 fields) fielding, hitting, baserunning, bunt and slap defenses. At one station they videoed the girls swinging...
ESPN iScore costs $9.99 for the android app and is awesome. It gives stats, spray charts,etc..
Maybe one of your parents has an android. After the game they e-mail you a summary of everything.
Does anyone have a workout or activity that injured players can do while at the field during practice? I need one for upper body injuries and another for lower body injuries.
Too much sitting, talking & distracting when more than one player is injured.
Thanks,
Mike

Just finished a high school tournament out of my area and saw most teams standing this way regardless of the pitcher's speed. Is this a new trend or what?
I have never instructed one of my players to stand that far up. Is there an advantage to it?
Thanks. I thought it was odd but it worked.
I'm ultra aggressive, I guess. I tell my runners on third to get a lead and if the ball is in the dirt or by the catcher, it is up to them to go because by the time I say go it is too late. To get them to be aggressive, I tell them then back them, if you get out I will swear that I sent you...
'm looking for a clinic outline or plan to do a 1 day 6 hour clinic for the local Little League.
I am planning on doing one for the kids and 1 for the coaches.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have a try-out form in which I time arm strength glove to glove from every position.
To begin I put every player in groups of 3,4 or 5 depending on total # of players at 1B, 2B, SS, 3B and hit grounders to all of them (3 apiece; throws to 1st and double plays) then rotate them clockwise and...
