Does anyone know the logic behind the rule?
They came about after the Arizona pitcher, Taryne Mowatt, would step extreme left to throw an inside pitch.
Does anyone know the logic behind the rule?
Its to keep pitchers from going way outside the width of the pitching plate and throwing the ball at an extreme angle across the plate. When NCAA first implemented the lines, they were nicknamed the Mowatt lines after a UofA pitcher. You can probably find videos on youtube of her pitching.Does anyone know the logic behind the rule?
Because it's NCAA. They have to mess with everything. My bad. I didn’t make myself clear. I understand the 24” rule. What I don’t understand is the 25” measurement. Why not 24” from beginning to end?
