I’d give the edge to alliance at 18u and PGF at 16u

A local girl pitched a no hitter in the 18-U Alliance finals. One parent on our team said how good could that losing team be when his local high school team full of “C” level players got hits and scored runs vs her at the game he went to watch. 🤷‍♂️

At 12U, PGF seemed much better. We only lost 2–1 in bracket play at Super Select to the team that I think finished 3rd at Alliance.

That parent doesn't know what he's watching. If the pitcher is SB, watch how many calls she gets on September 1st.

My daughter (well, me, really) turned down an invite to go to California with a 14U team, as they were down a pitcher. We declined.

That team made it to the 14U Premier finals and played on TV.

Oh well.
😏Ohhh, that hindsight nip'in you in the tushy?? 😁

Still nice to get an invite!
May I ask the reason you declined?

It’s not that she is isn’t great, it’s just that the other team should be able to get a hit if they are the best of the best. His local HS team somehow managed to get a victory against her. I told him maybe she was just working on a new pitch, who knows.

We live in Georgia. Would have cost a ton.

Also, it would have meant she missed the first week of practice with her new High School team, and be out of town the week before going into 9th grade. She would have missed high school orientation and such.

But really it was about money.

It's weird, isn't it?

I've watched girls pitch amazing against top teams but get beat by bad ones. Seems it's perhaps a mental let-down oftentimes. But could be working on something, could be bad pitch calling. We had one coach who kept calling for tons of change ups when none of the girls could catch up to her fastball. Drove me batty.

LOL!! No kidding!!! Didn’t she throw a perfect game in her HS state final - and a few no-hitters in their post-season, as well? Sounds like someone is a little bitter…

Oh wait - and she was only a HS sophomore too while she achieved this, right?!
