Next, and this is a more expensive next, go to the Rawlings custom builder and mock her up a custom 12” NP6 baseball glove with a narrow wrist opening. Your choice of web, colors, stitching, welting, etc. blah blah blah.

This being the best option always, as it allows for gold welting, which is proven to reduce errors. And impress coaches.

Another option....here's a 12.75" Vinci RV1961 that I sent to Rous for a tune up. This particular glove belonged to a 6'0" giant on Anna's 16U team that pitched and played 1B. She absolutely loved this glove! For a 12.75" glove it has a very snug hand stall!

My pitching DD still uses that glove in college when playing OF, it is a great glove. Prior to getting that more specific glove for OF duties she used a Vinci BV1929L whether it was in the circle, or just about any other position on the field. Honestly though I don't recall her ever covering 1rst in a game?

As you would expect, she prefers the Rawlings to the Vinci. That custom glove builder is so detailed! Here are her current options: HOH, narrow, 12”, NP6, then basket web, timberglaze, color with black, white or dark tan laces, long pinky length, timberglaze welting on palm, black welting on back, black binding”1” style trim/white, thermo formed liner, full coverage heel, standard breakin, and no finger pad, finger hood, palm pad or sweatband. Does anything sound odd? We’re new to this. She does prefer her wrist being more covered, so that is full coverage heel, correct?

Good question, no idea?

Is that just some random pic you pulled or is that yours, any idea what year it is? Horween was founded in 1905 but I have no clue what year or when they started suppling ball glove, football, and basketball specific leathers to sports equipment manufacturers?

That is some very cool old patinaed leather!
Ha, it's not mine but my old man had one similar. He was born in the early 20's and the caption on the picture of this glove said it was from the '20s. He was the youngest out of 15 kids and I'm sure it was well used when he got it. Softball at the family reunions was serious! I wish I knew whatever happened to his old glove?
