Now will I go start a new topic about how all parents aren't that terrible or will I accept that there is some nuance to be accounted for in your statement? Lol.....
These HS coaches sure are defensive.

I was on the board of a rec league for 10 years, basically ran it for 6 years. My DD and I thought this movie was hilarious. First time my wife saw it she got mad and walked out of the room..... because it was too close to reality.

Friend of mine coached HS softball for 9 years, 4 after his DDs graduated. Most years he refused to take the stipend. He finally decided dealing with the parents wasn't worth it. In the 5 years since he stepped down the HS has had 4 different coaches.

The solution to all of this is to go to the 'Fan Controlled' model of coaching. Parents can sit in the stands and vote on the starting lineups, when to bunt, and who to pitch via their phone.
Everyone would play and bat where they want and every team would be undefeated.

Tons of coaches around here that have coached HS for 20+ years. Not everyone is cut out for it.

Illinois has state and conference tournaments and titles for middle school. At least the southern half does. Can't speak for northern half. It's considered a nice accomplishment to win.That doesn’t mean there are titles to win though.

They should give a basic quiz to all of the fans in the stands before the game.
Anybody who fails the quiz is given a muzzle and made to sit in the corner. I can almost guarantee that I could put some basic strategy questions on there that would leave at least 3/4 of the fans muzzled..Most fans/parents don't know wth they are talking about...sorry. Doesn't make them bad people and it actually can be advantageous in terms of just enjoying the game instead of seeing all the screwups.
