Day 2 in the books. A lot of tedious work but making sure everyone gets a good look. A part of this is quick instruction on concepts as simple as where a 2B should stand to receive throws from the OF. You would think that TB players already know this. It is a good test to see who is coachable and who is not. It will be tough to do cuts but they have to be done. A couple of other comments:
- We have at least 3 girls who can pitch on the varsity level. Wow!
- We had a young lady hit a ball today that was WAAAAAAY OUT. Stuff like that will impress coaches. LOL
- When we finished practice tonight, the conversation for the varsity team was being strong up the middle. IMO, that means we will play a freshman at SS but I am not the HC. IMO, the best play and I don't care what year in school they are. I have made this comment before here and some of you strongly disagree. When my dd was a freshman, the HC then thought the same way. My dd was given the shot on varsity. She didn't disappoint.
- Tomorrow is Day 3 and cuts. I will give my opinions and then step out. Cuts will be done face to face. That is not easy to do but it is the right thing to do.
