Below document says no tournaments for 'moderate and high risk sports', with tournaments defined as ' as a series of contests where more than two teams compete against each other on the same day or within a 24 hour period, whether or not there is an ultimate winner or prize'.

So, double headers, but no tournaments.

Yes, that is what I heard. You have to play the same team, not a true tournament.

Our team is in a similar spot. Basketball is going to happen at the same time and that takes two of our strongest players.

The team consists of two TB players ( My DD and a stud freshman) a former TB player, 5 pretty good players and the rest are green freshmen. Like never played SB before green.

The league is only going to be 6 teams. Believe it or not we might be competitive.
All the teams come from small private schools.

Last year, we had 6 girls with TB experience, and a few others that had some reasonable level of effectiveness. It was the best team the school has had in at least 10 years. 6 seniors graduated, our #1 P is out, and another TB player is ineligible due to REALLY bad grades. This leaves us with 2 TB players (my DD and SS), and a whole lot of questions marks. I'm not sure we have a pitcher who can throw a consistent strike, or anything approaching 40mph. One of the teams in our league is Div 1, and can compete among the best in So Cal. Another team is not far behind them. Even with all our problems, we still might not be the worst. The range of competition level in our league is truly ridiculous.

Yikes, that's rough. Too bad my kid can't play in that league

So glad I live in Indiana. They took a middle ground approach to all of this. Complete summer travel season, fall travel, many winter indoor events and what appears to be a normal HS season a week into 1st practices

DD’s middle school team will have a season. The big question has been whether enough schools in our conference would be fielding teams. The school committed to going out of conference to set up games if necessary, and last I heard they have eight games scheduled with a mix of conference and non-conference opponents.

The parents in our district got together and signed everyone who would potentially make the team up for rec so the girls would be guaranteed some games (an unexpected bonus season on the bucket for me).

The MS coach showed up to a rec practice to get a look at who would be coming to tryouts in April. They are restricting the number of kids he can hold on the roster so that they can socially distance on the bus.

In South OC in SoCal.. DD's HS starts with games next friday. There are teams in the same league that have been scrimmaging 2x per week for the past 3 weeks.

DD's HS has 20 games scheduled... Tournaments seem similar to yours in WA. They are only allowed to play 1 team per day, so the tournaments are held over 3-4 days.

Our HS team has 11 TB players and 2 of them seniors. Hopefully we should be pretty good, but our team is young. Pitcher/Catcher/SS are freshman, so we'll see if they can hold up to the older players of other league schools.

Totally looking forward to it.

Playing in Ga and it is very rare to see any mask at tournaments. Life seems to be as normal as can be, we have team practice twice a week and lessons (hitting, catching, strength & agility) 3 days a week.

I dont trust the CIF Southern Section in California to figure things out. The public schools are going back to school 1 day a week for 3 hours and the students will be in one classroom on their computers the whole time. If they can't get the teachers union to get the teachers to teach, how are they going to get them to coach?

Travel ball has been hit and miss, some friendlies here in So Cal but any tournament the kids are going to play in have been in other states. So far we have been to Georgia, Alabama, Kansas, Texas, Arizona, Utah and Nevada to play in tourneys and show cases since July. California has been locked down. Soon as the kid graduates, we're out of this craphole.
