As I said Christmas Eve around 5:00, probably 12/13 family members here for dinner, everyone with plates in hand lined up to make themselves a plate.

As I was making a plate I popped one of my MIL’s deviled eggs in my mouth.....nothing! Very strange because they’re ALWAYS awesome! Sit down with my wife and start eating, nothing! I kicked her foot under the table and whispered I can’t taste anything! Her look was like “what??” We both knew right then!

Symptoms, no taste or smell. The back of my neck & shoulders were unbelievably sore, like the worst case of sleeping on your neck wrong.....times ten! Definitely got winded easier, never really felt bad just didn’t feel great either!

And temperature, never once had one, in fact, my temperature never even got to 98, it stayed anywhere from 97.3 to 97.8.

Drank tons of water and loaded up on Zinc and vitamin D3, did that really help, no idea?

My only concerns are any long-term issues being that this is a man-made, manipulated virus? I probably shouldn’t say anything else or Sluggers will delete me!

Get some rest, don’t stress yourself out, stay hydrated, you’ll be fine soon enough!

Get home and let mom and dad take care of you!

I remember seeing that post on here about you losing your sense of taste. It seems strange when you do lose it because you think your the one losing it...mentally that is. At least I did over what should have been an awesome sausage pizza from an awesome pizza place near campus. I think the moment truly hit me was when I was reaching for the dollar store pink salt grinder when the sausage was plenty salty according to my roommate who just recovered from covid.

As far as smell, I had started losing that but thought it had been from some dust that was kicked up...or worse case...daffodils that started growing on campus. My cramps have been in my lower abdomen to my internal lady parts. This is why I say if I didn't know better, I would have thought it was my endometriosis flaring up. It was how I was diagnosed with it a few years ago.. That and how my periods were getting (I'm getting too TMI). My shoulder blades and my neck has been feeling somewhat sore as well. Your right...it does feel like I've slept on it funny but worse.

I haven't checked my temperature yet. I normally run between 97.8 and 98.3.

I have started popping Vitamin C & D as well as Zinc. I'm taking whopping doses of vitamin C as I read it's supposed to help. Of course my saying whoppng doses is because I was just watching The Amazing Dr. Pol. I'm also drinking a lot of water. I don't know how I can drink more than I already do. I'm also drinking green tea sweetened with honey and I put some ginger in it. I've heard it helps and I'm starting to eat raw garlic as I've heard it helps. I'm planning on emailing my PCP and seeing what she recommends. Maybe I can get in either Monday or Tuesday.

We debated the whole issues and virus thing in one of my classes. Your right...if we talked about it, we'd surely get pegged...maybe even cancel-culture would hunt us down. :ROFLMAO:

I'm currently in bed with my other laptop hooked up to our tv with a hot cup of tea and I'm planning on leaving for home-like around 10 tonight. I should be okay.

Do your best to keep a positive mental state. It’s tough when you can’t be around other people AND you want to play ball. Take care of yourself first and foremost. FaceTime/video chat friends and family. It’s amazing how you can knock out a few hours that way.

I'm trying to keep positive. Thankfully, I got this when all the news on the virus isn't all doom and gloom. I'm not sure if I got the original strain that hit the US or one of other variants. If I got another variant, I hope its the UK strain. I'm going to do all of the other things mentioned.

Thank you so much for the get well wishes. I think if my symptoms stay like this, I shouldn't have too much to worry about. I see the worst-case scenarios they show on the news and think that could be me...especially since I'm a pre-med major.
Yeah, don’t do that! I tracked mine day to day to see on which day I would be where? On day 10 I was using a chainsaw on the outside of our fence line, day 10 was the day I was supposed to go into intensive care!

Stay away the the mainstream news, you’ll feel better! Oops, hope I didn’t cross any line there!

I’m pulling for you Gabby, take care of yourself!

Take the meds your doctor prescribes you, mine prescribed me a Z Pack, Prednisone and Hydroxychloroquine and told me to take a lot of Zinc and vitamin D. That was in July though so they may have other med regimens they are giving you now. Body aches lasted a day or so sore throat maybe 2 days. The lack of taste or smell was the weirdest part. I dont think I ate anything for 3 or 4 days at all. And when I did start eating again I was putting Tapatio on everything and I'm not usually a hot sauce guy.
You'll be OK, the tests now are amped up so some people are getting positive results but never showing symptoms. Enjoy the break, catch up on sleep, order pizzas, if you can taste them, you're good

I haven't gotten any prescriptions as I haven't been to my PCP yet. I'm currently taking huge doses of Vitamin C & D as well as Zinc. I'm also drinking plenty of water as well as green tea with honey and ginger and eating raw garlic. I do have body aches but no sore throat. The lack of taste and smell is indeed weird. For some reason, I'm craving Taquitos. Oh, well...

I'm not going to track my symptoms to see where I should be. But I'll keep note of when it gets worse. I just hope I don't end up in the ICU.

I try to stay away from the mass American media. If I watch any of it, it's either Fox or NewsMax. I like watching Hannity as well as Diamond and Silk.

Have a safe drive home!

I'll be safe driving home. If I start getting gut distress, I might not risk it. But I should be okay.

BUT: If you want to write something else, I will delete it faster than you can say, "severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2."

Good to see that there's someone monitoring these boards. Annasdad's (#4 poster) term for covid is inappropriate. I'm surprised that it's still on here after a whole day practically. That should be called out by members on here. It's a shame that someone who's a frequent poster here has to spew such ignorance. Lost all respect for you and will remember your username! Btw, I'm relatively new here (been reading posts for the past several months) and I've already noticed that schmitt's glove poster (or something like that) often uses hateful expressions when referring to covid-19. People like that ruin this forum. Stick to softball people! Leave your bigotry and ignorance to yourself!

Your respect is something I’m not seeking!

China Virus huh, that hurts your feelings? That’s in fact what it is! And a Bigot is something I’m definitely not, welcome aboard though, hope you enjoy your stay!

Gabby specifically asked us questions about Covid, softball wasn’t the topic of conversation!
