I run a small construction company. Our superintendents and foremen put a ton of miles on their Ford trucks. It is pretty typical for them to have over 300K before we upgrade them to a newer model. Our '14 F150 "yard truck" (formerly the daily driver of a foreman) had an engine replacement about 50k miles ago. It currently has 411k miles on it, and still drives pretty well. Our General Superintendent has a '16 F150 with 310K on it - zero major issues, looks and drives great.
That is fantastic! I haven’t seen one with that kind of mileage on its original engine. (Except the old power strokes) here that 5.4L doesn’t seem to hold up. And has tons of issues with exhaust manifolds

Fits my point....for each poopoo story, are stories about how great a certain truck is. I think people have to realize...all these vehicles
come off a line and some are bad, some are good. A warranty issue isn't the end of the world. It happens. Same with bats, breaks
happen.
My wifes dad bought her and her brother identical 2004 Hyundai Accents to run to and from college. Within 30K miles, her
car needed a new engine. The other was fine. And guess what, both are still running as of today. Our Accent has 224K
miles on it. Now, we put a used engine in it at 150Kbecause the head gasket went. And instead of doing the gasket, we got a great deal
on an engine with only 50K miles on it for 400 bucks. So we just did that instead. Both were great cars in my opinion.

I do agree with the 5.4...and I am scared to death for all these new super, super douper charged 6 cylinder trucks running around that Ford has
made. I am old school, I like v8's in trucks

Add to that, after working in manufacturing...
Hope for good quality control! 👍

10 gears in a 2.7 probably would have never been imagined by the die hard V8 crowd .

Now :) even Hemi V8 has option of regenerative breaking system called
e-torque

More stuff to break down RAD...haha

And I hate that auto shutoff when stopping as well with some new cars...then engine re-engages when you hit the pedal again

The 3.5L V6 EcoBoost is proving to be a very good engine...with the exception of the water pump.

I feel the exact same way. But I heard rumor that even Toyota is now looking into turbo charged v6’s. I assume because they are getting spanked in fuel efficiency

Well...if the shoe fits? :)

Start/stop feature is welcomed by some.
On/off button is appreciated by others! ;)

Or spanked because the 3rd generation tacoma is lacking in the go department.
And leaking some possibility of power may appease the taco crowd.
Did read some stuff of hybrid possibilities in those trucks.
