I did it this way myself. We didn’t go hunting down coaches or sending emails. My DD played and caught their attention. I told her ‘ if your good enough, they will find you’.
Playing in CA has its advantages with regards to this but I get what you are saying. In New England back in the day most of the kids getting scouted were pitchers (probably still the case), I just happened to play well in a game where there was a top 3 round pitcher throwing.

I keep 25 balls in my bucket and we typically do 3 rounds with each session. So 75 swings. To borrow a line from W=W, diminishing returns after the 75...

Since @Work=wins mentioned me, I thought I'd chime in.
Bullet point #2) Does it seem right to you that some really good D1 hitters have bat speed meas by Blast Motion in the upper 50’s lower 60’s?
"Really good"
by what measure? Batting avg? OPS? homeruns?
I was dumbfounded by ww's remark and shouldn't have been. He always says dumbass stuff. More time in the zone? Bunt!

Using the q number .1 and the fact that the minimum speed that a perfectly launched (26°) softball gets over a 200' fence is 63mph means with no pitch speed factored in, a 57mph bat speed can get the ball over. Everything else is lagniappe. That being said, you'd better be perfect. And that's what ww is saying. Rather than build in extra bat speed as room for error, spend all your time working on 57mph and being perfect.
Sounds stressful to me.

Here's a question on a real life observation. My dd routinely swung in the 80mpg bat speed range. I noticed when she swung and didn't get all of the ball she had higher bat speed, up to 95mph. I always wondered, cause and effect.
Was the bat speed responsible for the miss hit, or was the miss hit responsible for the bat speed? The bat slows when it transfers energy to the ball. So is it just allowed to accelerate more because of the miss?
Hmmmm?:unsure::unsure::unsure:

It’s all about bat quickness. How ‘fast’ can you get your bat from the launch position to Contact and impart enough force to be a force in the line up.

since you have no clue on how to do that, you choose to create this fantasy world of more force is better. it’s not what the best do, so what evidence do you have that it’s right? You don’t !!

aren’t you the slight bit curious on why better players don’t have the ‘most’ bat speed? Or are you just too scared to look into it in fear that you have been barking up the wrong tree this whole time? 😆 and maybe dumb w=w has been right all along. Hahahaha !!

My bucket also has 25.
We do 4 to 5 buckets.
In 30 minutes.

First bucket or 2 can sometimes be swinging muscle memory drills at pitches.

However i want the hitters to use their muscles to where they are tired.
Stop, breathe, relax, regroup...
Rip the ball.

Mental fatigue and body fatigue are endurance related, which we can strengthen.

Not talking about being sloppy keep swinging.
Talking about those last 10 to 15 swings...or a bucket where the athlete needs to push themselves.

Good contact from beginning TO end of workout.

You guys are too fancy with your ball buckets...I just use my old college baseball gear bag (we didn't have bat bags back then...) to hold the balls :LOL:

has it’s disadvantages as well. But some choose to look the other way. 2 sides to every story.

Ok..did I hit a nerve? ;) You were talking about getting seen by a college coach at a game. When there are a lot of good players in one setting there will be more college coaches there for the most part...The "* fish in a * pond" scenario you were likely referring to is a different topic..

Plus Marcela was rained out this weekend and it looks like rain this weekend too..when is the last time you were rained out 2 weekends in a row? :LOL:

First paragraph
Comment towards 'bat quickness'

I know its just verbage,
Prefer to recognize 'explosive body.'

Yeak my kitty litter style bucket IS pretty fancy.

@Bobby Shirer

There are two possible ww’s here. I’m not w=w but I am the author of bullet point #2. And by “really good”, what I mean is some of the best hitters in good hitting lineups like Arkansas and this years Fresno State.
Sorry, I didn't realize you could be a ww too. I meant w=w.
What hitters specifically and what made them "really good" hitters? Baseball or softball?
