Excuse my artwork again, lol. But imagine the black line is my shoulders, red circle, loose hands and wrists.. blue arrow indicates me pulling hands towards the incoming pitch. If I pull my hands towards the ball, what happens to the barrel? It will turn. It has to do with mass being in the end of the bat, in the barrel. Attempting to TTB seems to over complicate things

So Cal
Once again...

TM: Arod didn’t know what he did

Really?! OMG

He hit 696 HRs and has no idea what he did?’?!!

Get outta here for being an imbecile!!!!

ARod knows what to do in the box when facing the best pitching in the world - no doubt about it. He can describe how it feels to him. However, his description and demonstration do not match the movements we see on video. Based on this, I would agree that he doesn't seem to know how he really swings the bat.

But Eric, he's not the only great hitter claiming this, they all don't know how they really swing the bat? TTB is a very isolated unique movement.. surely after millions of swings they would kind of figure out what they were doing, not doing?

I'm a Data Analyst by trade.. so yeah I love analyzing things, unfortunately even in data analysis you sometimes get lost in the weeds and miss the big picture.

This is so ridiculous. In his actual game swings his hands never get even close to his belt. In his demo his hands go to and past his belt. It is actually baffling to me how someone can look at both of the frames in the Antonelli video and say the are "a match".

If you assist the acceleration of the barrel right from the start, it will rotate around the pivot point much faster than if you just allow it to rotate by the actions you describe. Time to contact is a critical factor. Why not do what you can to make that time quicker?

Hands only make a downward path because of posture or spine angle. Hand path is a basically a flat line also. I he swung at a ball at arm pit height the blue line above would match the black line.

Yes I can't draw a picture for every pitch location... the blue line would match the black line with a higher pitch.. but that's completely irrelevant to what I am saying

What you believe is your choice. Based on his description, I don't believe ARod really understands the full scope of what happens in his swing.

Add tilt. Do you really want him to slo mo his hand path while getting his body dynamically balanced in real time? Lol.

Critical thinking guys.

Control/balance and being short are probably more important critical factors wouldn’t you say?
