More Griffey,

Notice the front knee lift making the front leg shorter and more flexed then the backside. The backside is in control and sets the the front side back down. Or as everyone can see the swing sets the front foot down.

Looks like Griffey except he lands on the ball of foot and not so much of toe to heel (lands more flat footed). Same knee lift and same backside running the show.

Nice gif. Heck of a lot going on before that heel plants. Which is why heel plant is a meaningless checkpoint......

I don't think heel plant is a meaningless check point. Typically the shoulders start to turn at heel plant and you can check your swing at the point as well.

But we all just proved that it's not consistent. Bonds and Griffey are in different positions on different swings at heel plant. So what are we looking for or teaching in regards to toe touch or heel plant?

They might be at different positions, your right it's not always consistent. I also didn't include frames of the front foot being fully weighted, full foot plant. I just posted when the front heel slightly touched down. I could have included frames at the start as well. I was being generous with the clips since it was believed the swing didn't start until footplant. Let me redo a few clips that show any start and the full finish (front foot weighted).
