Im glad you like the topic. Which is about a hitter one has produced accompanied by a before and after video of a youth hitter.

I'm sorry if my discussion with Rich has offended you in any way! If Ken would like the discussion to stop I would surely comply! I do think that some things being discussed here are of some benefit. It definitely shows the teachings of one instructor and the opinions of others and that's when you learn or form your on opinions based on your works. It is no different than when someone discusses Epstein or Englishbey or Doc.

I'm not sure what your relationship with Rich is but I will try to keep it to hitting.

I have tried to get on Rich's site and as I have stated my IP is blocked. I really have no interest in subjecting kids or myself to his petty name calling and future abusive GIF posts and/or comments. He has a history of it and if you don't know that then that's something you may need to know. I have no interest in sending IP address and the FACT IS I have done this once before with him and he simply blocked me when I was head long into my argument! So its REALLY STUPID to argue with someone when they can just simply shirt you down. There are a whole lot of forums on the internet and I will gladly engage him here or on another other site! Ohhh hes banned everywhere so that may not work!

I have found that heated ,yet on topic debates extracts some very good information at times!

I posted the knee inside the ankle article to get some response. I am personally of the opinion that this is a non teach. If you are doing other things in the sequence correctly then this isn't anything to FOCUS on at all!

A few things: Rich posted in one of his blogs yesterday morning that he never received your IP address. I have no relationship with Rich. I do not belong to his site nor would I ever pay to do so. You are absolutely correct. If you do decide to go to his sight you would have to live by his rules, which would be name calling, abusive posts with GIFs attached, missing frames of GIFs to prove his point, etc. It's an unfair environment IMO but it is his sight so he can do with it as he pleases.

You and Rich do agree that the knee inside the ankle is a no teach. I call it keeping light pressure (read keeping one's weight) between the knees.
You and I (among others) agree that Rich dumps the barrel, not to mention his head and back (and his son's head and back) snaps back after doing so, claiming it an exact match to Bond's swing, and essentially if you are not doing both of these things it is a push swing.

Inside pitch, you release the barrel later in the swing. You turn the corner until the belly button fully faces the third baseman. You create maximum bat lag, bat goes parallel to the plate before release of the bat head.
Like this....

I think they say go...right now.
Can you give me an example of a hitter that doesn't 'go....right now'.:p
Thanks in advance.

Sure looks like Manny 'Turns the barrel foward towards the ball' right nowwwwwwwwww to me.

Looks to me, like Manny is getting his hands inside the ball as quickly as possible while loading the barrel.

Howe,
Are you saying that at this/these frame/frames that Manny is still loading the barrel?

I think I found my answer:
This is what you call (direct)loading:

Yes, the torque/pressure felt in his hands - as the handle is getting to the inside - is the barrel loading and then the release is the unload/launching of the barrel thru the ball.

This is what opened my eyes and changed how I think and teach the swing now:

And is the 'cure' for 'barrel dumpers'.

I think the Quality Drills thread was one of the best threads ever.

Rich promotes bopping the catcher in the head with the bat barrel. I think they say go...right now.

When I say turn the corner before release, it depends on pitch location.
Outside pitch, you release early, you stop rotation where your belly button is facing your target, thrust lower back, leg, knee and sweet part of bat towards your target.
Something like this....

Would this be what you advocate for an inside pitch?

I do not mind this clip of Bustos.

Hands above ball, hands inside ball, keep hands loaded.

The two swings look very different mechanically. Are you advocating a completely different swing for 'outside' versus 'inside' pitches?
