I'm one of "those" parents. Far too high strung for softball. Far too competitive and/or worried about what others may think.

For whatever reason- my husband is managing dd's 12u rec team. Grrrrrrrrr. We were undefeated. We've lost 2 in a row. And I've totally lost it. Can't bring myself back. lol.

Don't want to go to the games anymore.

I'm starting to think that some parents should just stay at home. For the sake of everyone involved.

If you truly feel the way you described over 2 losses during a 12u rec season, then yes, you should stay home. What you described is not healthy to you, your DD, your DH, nor the other parents/kids.

It's hard to tell someone not to feel a certain way. I can not stand to be around obnoxious drunks, especially the younger crowd. I can't simply change the way I feel, so I avoid those situations at all cost. This has served me well over the years.

It wasn't me.

amen....

If you are going totally BS crazy watching 12U rec....then there really is no hope for you at all and you should just ask what the score "was" when your hubby and DD get home from softball, then smile and nod and go back to whatever the hell you were doing that, hopefully, limits your BS craziness....

The answer is to understand that executing a skill when parents are groaning or yelling at you is impossible. I would practice softball yourself, make a game up of crazy adults, and let the kids mimic your behavior back to you. You will see how hard it is to perform on a stage, while being heckled all the time and reminded of your mistakes. If it is not softball, I would answer even obvious game show questions with time limit or something and see how bad you get under the same pressure.

this was an opportunity to try and be funny with the OP....and you missed by a mile yet again....not only are you wrong, because it is possible to execute a skill despite parents yelling, but your advise is to "create an adult exercise that will make you understand the big 12U rec stage" is just precious....and talk about "bad under pressure"....keep'em coming Flamion...I'm pretty bored.

You just need to sit with the 'outfield parents'........

I love how they are dressed nice with Red Solo Cups!
OP, my wife wasn't as crazy over it as it sounds like you are, but she did stop coming to practices and stayed away from everyone for awhile. DD actually really appreciated it and now DW has calmed down over the years and has things more in perspective. Oh, she drinks more too but that's after the games!
