Bm's bat drill really helps one feel the wrist extension coming into release if when they take the bat back, they cup their wrist prior to letting it drop down. That force helps pull the wrist into extension and can be better felt in the fingers.

Have to admit I've gotten lazy.........Wife bought me a Ipad............Great for reading........Not good for video editing.......Now firing up the laptop seems like a chore.........But for this I did.

D.........You're DD is NOT internally rotating the most critical component of I/R release..........The FOREARM..........

If you read my posts in I/R, you'll have read this premise on the merit of I/R..........PALM UP TO PALM DOWN WHILE SPINNING THE BALL TO THE RIGHT............Supination (palm up) to PRONATION (palm down).........THROUGH RELEASE.......

DD is internally rotating the humerus ONLY...........1/2 the equation.........

Look where DD's palm is facing AFTER RELEASE compared to Amanda. Amanda's palm (forearm) has rotated from palm up to palm in.......Completing almost 3/4's of the forearm rotation required to propel the ball forward WITH WHIP.......Where your DD's forearm has completed ZERO degrees of internal rotation at the same moment in time........

Let DD's shoulders relax and close through as she turns the forearm from palm up to palm down TO THROW THE BALL..........While spinning the ball slightly to the right........So she can catch the whip created as the radius shrinks from the circles axis at the shoulder, changing to the circles axis being created by the ROTATING FOREARM............From palm up to palm down..........

When she gets this, extension toward the target will occur naturally as the forearm completes it's rotation during follow through................

As Abby suggested..........Grab a bat.......And rotate it from PALM UP/LABEL UP in back TO PALM DOWN/LABEL DOWN in front, RIGHT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ARC..............You'll feel the "SNAP OF THE WHIP" during that rotation IF it's done AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE ARC..........

What you'll feel is the barrel "POPPING UP" in front of you with no effort to do so........AND EVEN THOUGH YOUR PALM IS FACING DOWN...........Because of the whip created at the bottom via forearm rotation at the last second.........

That FOREARM ROTATION WHIP is what propels the ball forward faster then ANY OTHER PART OF THE PITCHING MOTION........

IF YOU DO THIS........You'll understand EXACTLY what DD is missing........

Let me know if you feel it buddy..........

Best Regards..........

I'm posting this to show you what a "student" should look like and feel when working this drill.........Hope her dad and her don't mind.........She is working to turn from palm up to palm down through release while keeping the spin slightly to the right........

She is DEFINITELY catching the whip..........You can see the "snap of the whip" at the bottom clear as day as her forearm ROTATES to propel the ball..........Loose and relaxed......Catch the whip..........

they will be up in like an hour

both full speed and slow mo

rear and side views
