Need help from scorekeeper gurus please. I checked NCAA and ASA and I haven't resolved whether the 12U relief pitcher should be credited with a save.
Here's the scenario. Pool game #1. Starting pitcher of home team pitches 2 complete innings. Score is 5-1, visitors. Top of third, home team puts in a relief pitcher. After 3 complete innings, 5-2 visitors. After 4 complete innings, 6-6 tie, PU calls time expired and effects tiebreaker rule. After 5 complete innings score remains tied 6-6. Both home and visitor coaches conference and decide to end game as a 6-6 tie.
The home team RP did not "save" the win, but was pitcher on record when game was tied. Neither the home team or visitor pitchers get a win nor a loss, but do you scorekeeper experts give the home team RP a save?
Thanks much.
