Thanks FFS, Do you think the drag and hand activation thread or any other thread would help? Or could you explain the fix to me. I see that going from tee to live pitching adds another element. She is hitting it harder than ever but we want to continue getting better. I have been helped so much in this journey. Very thankful

Sure thing.

But let's make the instruction fairly simple. Don't bring up a host of issues. Make the instruction short and simple.

Tell her to get to the position in her swing below, and see if she can have the barrel slot more like is shown with the green line. This will have the knob of the bat directed towards the catcher's feet.

From here, simply think of "turning the friggin barrel to the ball".

That's it. Make the instruction that simple. Work on the barrel slot and on turning the barrel.

Oh ... and since she obviously like's Miggy's swing ... and we know this from the caption in the above GIF ... let's include a clip of Miggy "turning the barrel to the ball" as a rough example.

Yep!

One of the things I want to see is if the rear elbow ends up 'higher' than the front elbow, as opposed to 'lower' than the front elbow, as she arrives at her 'launch position'. Good chance that will happen simply by correcting the barrel slot and hand-set ... but we will see ... as different individuals interpret the same recommendations differently at times. Right now the notion is to see what this girl will do on her own by simply following simple instruction.

Good example of Miggy arriving at his launch position. This girl needs to practice just that ..... which I believe is the point of your post.

Correct, this is the gif you made to help show my DD (Laura). We are still working on getting too this position on live pitching, consistently. Seems some times a hitter may fall back into their 'flatten bat and swing' mode.

I hear you. At some point we should cover extensor action and how the top hand is responsible for the barrel slot/angle on the approach to what many refer to as the 'launch position'.

In a different thread, you used this graphic to illustrate turning the barrel (I think-if not, please correct me).
turning the barrel.gif

In the earlier graphic you posted (I envy your skill at this), it looks like miggy starts turning the barrel about here:
miggystartingbarrelturn.jpg
I say this because it appears the angle between the bat and left forearm starts to change at about this point. And if that's the case, is this when a batter (the OP's daughter) should start using her hands to turn the barrel?

I'm a turn-the-barrel novice so if this isn't roughly right, please type slowly.:)

Hi PB ....

In this photo you posted ....

..... notice that white line drawn from where the 'barrel tip was' to where the 'barrel tip is', has the path of the barrel tip in a swing arc that initially went 'rearward'.

That's all turning the barrel really is ... the sending of the barrel along it's swing arc.

In other words ... the turning of the barrel started much earlier than the position you've shown here.

p.s.
I prefer the following clip for showing the pressures relative to swing initiation ... although I'm trying to come up with something a bit better still.

I think I'm finally getting it--THANKS!!!

If I were to trace the tip of the bat of OP's daughter's swing (I lack the skill) as you did to produce the "C" shape below:
turningthebarrel C shape.jpg
it would produce a relatively taller "C" (clumsily and inaccurately drawn below)
shallow c.jpg

And the graphic I wrongly thought showed turning the barrel was actually the means to turning the barrel. Hope I got it right this time.

Thanks FFS for the explanation and thanks TeamM for sharing your videos!
