Runner on first less than 2 outs.
One hopper to the first baseman and the runner on first goes back to the first base bag bag. 1B steps on the bag and then tags the runner (who is standing on first) and the umpire rules it a double play.
Was it the right call?
Also, another one from this past weekend.
Umpire calls a player out on strikes so she runs back to the dugout. Field ump lets him know there were only 2 strikes (which there were) so he calls the player back. One of our coaches points out that she surrendered her at bat by going to the dugout and she is then called out. I thought she should have been allowed to hit since it was on the home plate umpires mistake that she went back to the dugout.
