Thanks Cannonball for the link to the article. Was hoping that one of the CA posters would be on the ball, but glad to see that you're on top of it!!

That sopunds like a lot of parental involvement and politics for a college team. I was hoping to be done with all that nonsense after she graduates.

OILF, if you are reading that website then you would have known that the previous coach was cleared of any wrong doing.

Yes, I know that, but he's the captain of the ship and say that to all of the other administrators or coaches (Or company or government officials) who were forced out for similar incidents. You were not watching close enough as the authority figure or you knew or should have known about it and did nothing.

So following your simplistic logic every one from the AD up to the President of the University needs to go since as authority figures they "should have known about it and did nothing."

I must ask: Based on your years of coaching experience and knowledge of the management structure of large universities, is it common place for the Director of Sports Performance to work as a subordinate to the softball coach?

Uh...there are several news stories out there. Try Google and Bing.

For the best scoop, go to the UCS forum. Not sure why the parents are fighting this battle. Aren't their children adults now?

Sexual harassment was found in a Title IX investigation, and as such, the HC (the captain of the ship) needed to go.

Stanford has other Title IX issues and they are piling up. (Good luck, parents, with the reverse Title IX twist, that is BS. Victim shaming and blaming going on here, against someone else's child.)

PS> My understanding is the lack of handshaking was caught on the PAC12 network coverage.

There is little there other than opinionated yahoos that badmouth everyone that are not on their DDs or their favorite team (Hint: Raisin Cajuns). Not much of anything I've ever read there is objective.

On the other hand, the Title IX issues you described may indeed be the root of this issue and you may indeed be privy. I don't know. Time will tell.

But here's what I saw tonight. Despite being run-ruled in Tucson, several Cardinal players made absolutely outstanding defensive plays. The team is probably divided, as previous posts suggest. The current coach remained upbeat and encouraging. She is in a tough spot. She gained more respect from me.
