I saw this too and was hoping someone would comment on it. I did notice her foot is still in the air on release of the pitch. Maybe an adjustment based on the pitch? Would like to see more swings from the same angle.

It's not unusual for the front foot to be in the air on release. It's just unusual to be stepping out on release. Or if it is common, I was never aware of it. But as far as the front foot being in the air, that is often the case even until the ball is bearing down on the hitter. Good hitters can get the front foot down as late as the ball being just a few feet in front of them.

Ted Williams always suggested that it was Okay to make an Educated Guess on what pitch was coming. Great hitters can do it and looks like it paid off on this pitch.

Tony Gwyn believed and spoke of most major league hitters having front foot down when pitch halfway.

My educated guess she got a heads to look for an inside pitch, the information was correct and the results are obvious.
