In our Tournament this past Sunday during elimination bracket play a coach totally lost it and got his team eliminated. Somewhere in the 3rd inning this coach goes nutz over what he thinks is a bad call. I didn't see the play and DDs team was not involved, they where in the far outfield warming up for the game after. So coach charges the blue and is chest bumping him yelling, blue keeps his cool throws the coach out of the game and starts to walk towards the opposite dugout. The coach is still going off follows the Blue and blue turns and signals the game is forfeited looks at the opposing coach and tells him you get the victory. Coach goes into a different level (violently) of yelling, his own coaches run out and tackle him in the infield to restrain him. The girls are freaking out, his team was on defense at the time and the just break down crying. Blue leaves the game and is walking towards the tournament directors booth which was located at opposite side of park, maybe 300 yards or so. Crazy Coach is escorted back to his dugout by his coaches who are still holding him back. Then coach breaks loose and makes a mad dash at the blue who is now halfway to the booth. Parents from our team who are witnessing this go down and parents/coaches form opposing team are trying to tackle him and give chase trying to stop him from getting to the blue. Crazy Coach is crazy fast and ends up dodging tackles, gets his shirt torn but makes it to the blue, every one else is close behind so as soon as he stopped there where like 10 adult men surrounding the coach and trying to keep things from escalating into anything physical. Coach had a few more things to say to the blue, realizing he was way out numbered and then his turns away from blue. Now his coaches catch up to him and escorted him back to his vehicle. First time I have ever witnessed this level of behavior from a coach during a game. Just crazy

Its because 10u games mean so much in life.

Just a guess on the age part. A nut job like that would never make it to the older brackets.

Was it Mitch Williams?

He needs to thank every person who stopped him from getting to the umpire. He did not want to get the law involved with that one.

Well my husband umps baseball and he is a very good. He played baseball for 18 years. He has been asked to ump All-stars and Travel and will most likely be head umpire next year for our league. Every call is a split second decision and those umps at tourneys don't have a dog in the fight(as my husband says since we only have girls) and so they should be good. But they are human.

I have seen my husband throw guys out for doing less. All I know is if some crazy fool came after mine, he'd get a softball bat to the shin.

I just hope all those parents are smart enough to pull their kids if that coach goes anywhere near a field again. Zebras don't change their stripes and this guy would have come in with that attitude. Shame on the league for letting him coach. You don't just blow up like that out of no where.

Absolutely disgraceful. If you aren't professional enough to keep your cool over a children's game, you shouldn't be around children.

If the umpires wouldn't make bad calls these things wouldn't happen.

You'd think that, but then some little girl will throw to the wrong base and need to be screamed at.

It's the law of nature. If adults are allowed to watch kids engage in any sort of competition, it's only a short matter of time before one of the adults will try to kill another one.
