Can a girl who is an 06 who's main team is a 12u team, play in a 10u national qualifier tournament with no roster problems? I thought you could play in the small tournaments and play back and forth, but once it was a national qualifier you were locked on that teams roster.

That would depend on a lot of factors such as sanctioning body, level, the state you are in, and what the tournament director or state director deems appropriate sometimes based specifically on the team or player involved. If the girl in question is a legitimate 10U player I wouldn't lose much sleep over whether or not she was also rostered on a 12U team.

Technically, most ABC rule sets such as ASA, NSA, USSSA, etc. will not allow a player to switch between age groups let alone teams. Once the player is rostered as a 12U on a team and plays in any tournament sanctioned by that body, she is no longer allowed to play at the 10U level in that ABC organizational tournaments until the following year even if she's eligible to play age-wise. As far as teams go, if she were to play at the same age level, it would be a simple matter of getting a signed release.

You don't have another daughter who we're going to have to face every weekend again, do you??? I'm thinking no. I'm aware of at least 2 very good '06 central Ohio pitchers who are rostered on 12u teams for the upcoming season. I'm sure hoping I won't see them subbing down at 10u.

Best thing to do would be to contact the commissioner, director, (whatever the title is), of any of the organizations in your area and ask this question....
