Hi all, my DD is a 2026 grad and has started to attend camps and has kicked in the commitment for putting herself in position to being able to play in college. She does want to go to a big school (doesn't care about division but she is finding out that most on her list are D1, she doesn't care about specific conferences. She is on a regional team that plays USA/PGF but we are thinking that she probably needs to be a national team to get better level of competition. Have others done the same thing? and are you joining the current branded national team org? How do you get on the Top team? She doesn't want to be on the Branded org that can't qualify to play on the main field for the larger tournaments.

Any thoughts /suggestions?

Well, it's a little late for tryouts for most organizations, so you'll have to jump on a private workout with a team in need. We made the jump from a regional team to a national one last year. If you're going to a true National team, not some team that just slaps the moniker on their name, you will see a ton of coaches and be on the main fields. It will also be a significant increase in opponent abilities, so he prepared for some struggles. Lastly, it will be a big jump in cost to the family. Not necessarily the team dues, but the travel.

Tryouts have already concluded for many of these programs. She has to have the skill set to play at that level too. When you are looking at the teams that play on a national level, not all are made the same and you don't have to be on a top 10 team in the nation. Perhaps a top 10 team in your region could be a better fit. Find a team that plays against the top teams in your area and in the National events. IDT, Sparker Super Power Pools, Alliance, PGF, etc. In the fall are they already scheduled to play in the top recruiting events locally.

At this point, you should know who these teams are in your area. If you tell us what state you are in, many folks on here can help narrow down the teams in your area. For the top top teams, it will tough breaking in on one of those teams, but it all depends on the program. How she fits in with the needs of the team and the reputation of the coaches are important too.

Thanks - located in NC. Seeing as these teams are not practicing together on a regular basis, we are open to teams within a 4-6 hour drive.

LLG and Team NC are good options for your area.

... and some Mojo teams might not be too far a drive.

To the OP, do your research. Find out who did well in the summer National tourneys, and check where their holes may be and where your DD might fit best. Then you contact them and enquire. At some point you'll find a team needing what your DD has to offer.

You see that the Mojo Palmer team (or most of them at least) moved to the Hotshots?

I had heard that, yes. Wonder why? Both orgs seems very good. *shrug*

We're switching Orgs too. Should be a write-up in Extra Innings later today on it I think.
