She was called because toe of her back foot was not all the way touching the plate at start. This happens every once in a while, and it doesn't bother her. I have heard MLB people refer to "effective speed". If two pitchers throw the same speed, but one releases the ball 2-3 feet closer to plate, she should have a faster "effective speed". Biscuit- you are still missing my point. First of all, LL has rules about pitching that would absolutely not allow a pitcher to dominate and win the LLWS. This gets to be a tired subject every year for the elitists who think they are too good for Little League. If you read what is posted you will note that these are NOT travel teams that recruit, but community based teams that represent their area. 18U ASA nationals a better level of play than 16U ASA nationals? Then by how much?
There is a big difference between 16U and 18Gold at the higher levels of PGF and ASA. Almost all the best pitchers from the 2014, 2015, and many from 2016 classes (as well as hitters) all played 18 this year. Anyone use Metal Cleats?
I have a DD that pitches with molded most of the time, and only uses metal in very sandy or sloppy conditions. Just an observation, but it seems like every thread I see on pitch speeds evolves the following way: First, there must be something wrong with the radar guns or they are not using them correctly. Low Rise for a Strike?
